1 Giant Leap
“Music for me is proof of the existence of god.”
-Kurt Vonnegut
I just finished watching the musical-DVD “One Giant Leap” and I have to tell you, it was incredible. The segment about sex was most interesting and happiness was really good too.
1 Giant Leap is an incredible fusion of musicians and instruments from around the world. Taken from their website, http://www.1giantleap.tv/:
1 Giant Leap is a collaborative DVD/CD/Cinema project for the 21st Century, fusing music, words, sounds, rhythms and images from around the globe to celebrate the creative diversity of musicians, storytellers, authors, filmmakers, artists and thinkers from many different cultures.
1 Giant Leap is a title, a philosophy, a leap of faith that sprung from the minds of creative visionaries Jamie Catto and Duncan Bridgeman, and was supported by music industry legend Chris Blackwell. It is a melding of 21st Century technology and age-old beliefs; of careful planning and spontaneity; of East and West; rich and poor; the embodiment of the unity in human diversity.
1 Giant Leap features contributions from some of the most creative minds of our generation: Dennis Hopper, Kurt Vonnegut, Michael Stipe, Robbie Williams, Tom Robbins, Speech (from Arrested Development), Brian Eno, Baaba Maal, Anita Roddick, Ram Dass, Michael Franti, Gabrielle Roth, Asha Bhosle, and many others.
Treat and indulge yourself by watching this delicious masterpiece of a film. Also, there were several interesting instruments that I didn’t know existed until now. Thank you Carlos for hooking me up with the DVD and trusting me with such a delicate and scratchable object.
