Dual-Chamber, Forked Didgeridoo
The dual-chamber didgeridoo is an illusive instrument to find on the internet but I did find this side-ways video of two people playing the same didge.. *jaw drop* ..at the same time! Think of the possibilities…
The didgeridoo (or didjeridu) is said to be the oldest wind instrument, dating back 1500 years to Aboriginal Austrailia. Didgeridoos are classified as aerophones, which are instruments that produce their sound by vibration of an air body and not the instrument itself.
The didgeridoo has some interesting health benefits (via Wikipedia):
A 2005 study in the British Medical Journal found that learning and practicing the didgeridoo helped reduce snoring and sleep apnea, as well as daytime sleepiness. This appears to work by strengthening muscles in the upper airway, thus reducing their tendency to collapse during sleep.
I think all musical instruments have health benefits especially the woodwinds because they keep the blood oxygenated.
P.S. If you have a dual-chamber didge, I would like to feature you and your didge on the blog. The dual-didge deserves more media coverage!
