The “Tonal Plexus” - an 844 Button Keyboard

These incredible microtonal MIDI keyboards have 211 keys per octave (normal pianos have 12 keys per octave) and each key can be custom tuned! From H-Pi Instruments:

The cool think about these keyboards is that the buttons are very sensitive and can be played with a delicate and light fingering technique.

    That thing reminds me of the Peterson tuners we use for setting temperament on pipe organs. It is able to pick up every frequency between two notes, so that there really isn’t any set temperament. Peterson uses a ’strobe’ type aid to find out if A is really at 440…or if it’s a few cents sharp or flat. This device would be a wicked pipe organ if it ever was built as one!
